So in this multi- blog, it’s a combination of today’s podcast ( make your beauty mark), and mindset Makeover Blog post.

Because I didn’t get a chance to talk with you last week I wanted to give you several ways to get this blog, plus links, articles , and images .

So let’s get right to it !

As a reminder with this type of blog, I write more in a storytelling way. Sometimes I’ll  give examples , movies , or pop culture references to illustrate more of what I’m saying.

What does ” FAITH over FEAR” actually mean ? Seriously ? Has anyone ever explained it to you?

One would assume that if you use a phase like this, you can explain what it means…

I’m bringing up this topic up , especially in this month because of

1. New Year
2. Our theme this month of ” Play Your Position “

All month I found myself personally really questioning what I believe in .

As I try to cover in all my blog posts ; your beliefs, values , and mission are a central part of your personal brand.

While this blog deals with mindset, I believe your mindset is connected to your behaviors, communication, and I believe that is all connected to what you believe about yourself, your spirituality, and your philosophy on life.

So when I talk with my clients, reading  social media , or even in  conversation with friends about their dreams and goals . I notice they sound so exhausted about what they are doing,  they mention everyone else , and it’s always a list of negative things about what they can’t do.

My question : Where is the belief at?

Story ( History, Beliefs, Community)

The past two weekends I’ve listened to sermons that both focus on belief.

Dr Jamal Bryant’s sermon ” I Didn’t Run Away, I Walked. He spoke on fear and how it keeps us in a place of fear, passing our ideas as faith , and  we lack the understanding of what we believe in.  Most of the time we think we aren’t qualified for the position, we think we aren’t where we are supposed to be , and we actually put faith in the place of where our belief should be at.

Here are some keys that he dropped for me that I wanted to share with you.

1.  The shadow is bigger than the actual thing . A shadow is a reflection of an object.  Are you really in a dark place, or just walking in a shadow of the thing?
2. Fear is your  Kryptonite that’s keeping you from being Superman . What’s the thing (s) holding you back from showing up, posting on social media , or actually applying yourself to the best you, in order for you to actually help the community or audience you’re called to?

Powerful right?

As a personal brand your job is based on YOU  spreading your knowledge, values, skills, and beliefs with your audience. If you’re not clear about what you believe in, no amount of faith can subsubsite for the what you don’t have .

After that sermon, I listened to Dr Miles Monroe on the topic “ The Kingdom Of God”, while you may or may not be a believer. I think everyone can take something away from how he described knowing the foundation of what you believe in. (Btw You can watch that sermon here. )

As I discussed in my podcast, knowing what you believe in is more than just talking about it, your lifestyle has to be a reflection of it . How you  profess what you believe in and you don’t follow  or know the..

1. Discipline
2. Laws
3. Foundation

Once you know what you believe in your faith is the backup tire to keep you going once your main tire catches a flat.

The Wipe Down ( Close of Mission, Story, Or Plan On How To Follow Up )

Think about it, you believe in something you have confidence to do it again. Once you have helped one client, made one sale, or been doing the job for several years… you know you can do it again. Your faith keeping you believing that YOU will end up where YOU want to be

As a creative, it’s so many times I have an idea of how something is going to turn out , but honestly.  I never know for sure . From music, planning , writing, or speaking ,,, I just believe that it will be great, because

1. I’ve done this before ( what have you done before?)
2. I did a piece of this ( where, when, how  have I been close to this before?)
3. I’m willing to do this over and over again until I get it the way I see it ( what can you be disciplined and  dedicated to finish? )

Remember playing your position is about what YOU can do. What can you authentically show up for yourself in a world full of distractions?
